Steven Bernstein's Millennial Territory Orchestra with special guest Catherine Russell

Trumpeter/slide trumpeter, bandleader, arranger, and composer Steven Bernstein helps keep the New York music scene fun, fresh, and full of surprises. Bernstein’s nine-piece “little big band” Millennial Territory Orchestra is a delightful showcase of his witty, genre-crossing, and sometimes irreverent approach to writing and arranging music. The group performs early swing gems, songs by The Beatles, Don Redman, Ray Charles, Fats Waller, Sly & the Family Stone, and Prince, and some originals—all reinterpreted with the feel of an early 20th Century dance band that was somehow exposed to nearly an extra century’s worth of contemporary musical ideas.

Born in New York City’s downtown scene during the 1990s, Sexmob is now coming up to Jazz at Lincoln Center to light up the Dizzy’s Club stage for one night only.
